Lothar Makes a Bugger-Duck

Once Lothar was fishing on the Yellowstone with dry flies when he realized the fish only wanted big fat streamers. But Lothar did have duct tape, hooks, and lead wrap. Spotting  the downy feathers of a coyote-gnawed duck on the bank, Lothar knew what to do. He invented the Bugger-Duck, a cross between a woolly Bugger and duct tape, which perhaps resembles whitefish or sucker fry, and within minutes Lothar caught a behemoth brown trout.

Because no vice, thread, bobbin, or hackle pliers are involved, one may tie a Bugger-Duck sitting on the tailgate of one's pickup. Watch Lothar and follow these steps:

Step 1

Gather Feathers, duct tape and lead

Step 2

Tear off a thin strip of duct tape
and wrap hook so  lead wrap won't slip.

Step 3

Wrap duct tape hook with lead
